A four-day immersion designed to shake loose the old operating system you've been living from and help you build a new one — one rooted in flow, connection, joy, and nervous system regulation.
They can be literal, but they’re really metaphors — three pillars that rewire a life.
SURF=FLOW
One non-negotiable daily movement outside. Surfing if you're able, or another embodied practice that nudges you into presence. Flow state isn't about performance it's about losing the mind long enough to remember the body. When you access flow every day, even for a few minutes, the nervous system recalibrates. You create space. You access clarity.
SEX = INTIMACY & CONNECTION
The practice of letting people in. Emotional honesty instead of armor. Real connection that regulates your nervous system instead of draining it. Intimacy that isn’t about performance — but about being seen and received.
PANCAKES = JOY & PERMISSION
One intentional act of pleasure. Something that nourishes the soul, not the ego. Something you allow yourself without guilt, morality, or earning. Joy isn't extra — it's data.It tells the system, "Life is safe enough to enjoy." That is rewiring.
WHY 4 DAYS?
Because stepping into a new environment gives your brain a pattern interrupt.
For four days, you’re practicing a different way of living:
Your phone habits, your roles, your routines — all loosen their grip.
Movement before screens
Connection before performance
Joy without permission
NEUROPLASTICITY
Repeated flow, connection, and joy activate new neural pathways while old reactive patterns weaken.
NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION
Breathwork, surf, grounding, group work shift you out of survival mode and into regulation.
INTERNAL REFERENCE POINT
You don't leave with motivation. You leave with a new baseline. Your body now knows what regulated, alive, connected feels like and won't accept less.

"John’s retreat came at exactly the right time for me. I was facing several big life decisions and had been stuck in my head for months, overthinking everything and feeling unsure about how to move forward. I was honestly at a breaking point and craving clarity.When I read the email about the retreat and saw how intentionally it was designed to get us out of our heads and into our bodies, I immediately knew it was what I needed. The days were filled with experiences that did exactly that - ATVs, horseback riding, surfing - activities that required my full presence and didn’t leave room for my phone or my spiraling thoughts. What I loved most, though, was the sense of community. Being able to openly share what I was processing with others, while moving through those experiences together, helped me feel supported, heard, and grounded. It stopped the mental spiral I had been in and allowed real clarity to emerge.I’m so grateful you organized this retreat, John. It gave me exactly what I needed at a pivotal moment in my life."
"The retreat was more than I expected in so many ways... I learned that the best thing to hold on to in that ocean of uncertainty is me. I have my back & I trust myself in this journey."
" first i just want to thank you again for attending my first retreathere in CR. it's been so meaningful for me as i am now going to run two more, more surf camp style in march and maybe another in may (just becauseit's Andrea's birthday!)anyway, i hope you had a meaningful experience.if you feel called to give me any written / or video testimonial, i would greatly appreciate it. it would be for the website.hope we collide soon.be well."
I had a great time John. Very grateful for the time spent and it was worth it for me and helped so much with my clarify. My only feedback would he that we would have loved more of you. The group sessions were really critical and I felt sometimes got pushed to the back burner, when that was a key reason a lot of us were there. I think we should do them in the morning when people are sharp, and really allow enough time so they are not rushed. I felt a little unresolved and left open/raw when sessions were cut short or not really concluded or rushed. A little more structure and accountability with that would have made it really perfect.
CEO / Company
The mix of activities, group work, and exposure to new things was perfect. I feel like I learned much and opened my eyes to new/different possibilities. As a result finding my direction a little different than when I arrived.
